was born on Mar 20 1884 in Town of Bennington, NY.
(2) He was baptized after Mar 20 1884 in Sheldon,
NY.

His Godparents were John Metzger and Mary
Glaser. It has been reported by his Granddaughter that his hair was red
and consequently, he was sometimes known as "Red." He got his law
degree at Cornell in 1906 and married in 1908.
From the Barvian Family History, JAB53:
The 1910 census confirms that Eugene was a "General
Practice"
Lawyer. His 1917 draft card has an address "16 Clinton St." and
his
hair color (light) eye color (gray) and build (Medium height, small
build) The only picture I have been able to dig up is of Eugene as a child in a family portrait. His hair does seem lightish.
