John Gustin
John Gustin, of Augusta, New Jersey, born June 8, 1759, was a private in the American Revolution, Colonel of Sussex militia in 1793 and Colonel in the War of 1812, stationed at Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
He was married first to Esther Price. John married second, Sarah Allen (Widow), daughter of Thomas Allen of Hardwick and they were the parents of six sons. John was elected member of New Jersey Assembly in 1798. Sworn in as sheriff, 20 Oct 1807. Colonel in War of 1812, stationed Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, 18 Feb 1818.
