"John Prescott, "founder of Lancaster," born Shevington, Lancashire, England; died Lancaster, 1681; married Mary Platts, of Yorkshire, england. He came over after 1635, was in Watertown, Ma. prior to 1641 and about 1646 in Lancaster, then called Nashaway (Nashua); also a land owner, leaving at his death 700 acres."
He was married to Mary (Gawksroger) Platts.
