SIXTH GENERATION

Rufus Malkson was born in St. David, New Brunswick on February 27 1822(3). He was a Farmer. He died in Waite, Maine on October 26th, 1903 of cirrhosis of the liver. I have a print-out of his death record.
Pheobe Schools was born at Tower Hill, St. David, New Brunswick in 1836.  Her Father was Nicholas Schools (1785) and her mother Rachel Jordon (1793).  Her name was spelled in several different way in various records, such as Phebe. Her death certificate listes her as Mrs. Phebe Malkson. She died in Waite, Maine in March of 1909. She may have died of something called "consumption of blood", but the handwriting is really difficult to read. Her occupation is listed as housewife.

Rufus and Pheobe, at the time of the 1900 U.S. Census, lived with Annie (their daughter), her husband ___Williams and the Williams' children in Waite, Maine in Washington County.  They were 77 and 63 respectively.  Rufus indicated that his father was born in Ireland and his mother in "Canada Eng." Phoebe's parents had both been born in Maine. Rufus came to the United States 30 years previously in 1870. They indicate that they had been married for 39 years, so they would have been married in 1861, when Phoebe was about 23 and Rufus about 39.
