| Adorno Blood was born about 1809 some say in Canada and one says Massachusetts. Pioneer & General History of Geauga Page 163. Adorno Blood was born in Massachusetts; married Maryett Dormon, and had four children-- Emily O., Clark, Adorno, jr., and Elsipher. Mr. Blood came to Auburn about 1840, and engaged in manufacturing rakes, and carried on that business first in the southern part of the township, at a saw-mill, built in an early day by the Pinney Brothers, on a stream known as Black brook; from there he moved to the west part of the township, and started a rake factory at the saw-mill built by one Harvis, known afterwards as Barney's mill, where he manufactured rakes a few years, then turned his attention to farming. Mr. Blood lost his first wife several years since; married again, and now resides at Pope's corners, in Troy. It seems he remarried a second (Eliza Thompson in 1849) and maybe even a third (Lovina) time.

Marietta Dorman (sometimes spelled Maryett or Maryetta and Dorman or Dormon or Dormont etc...) was born on June 9, 1819 in Hartland, CT. She was married in Massachusetts in 1837, but moved with her husband to Ohio, possibly after 1842, since Meranda was born in Tyringham near Otis in 1842 [2]. She sadly predeceased both of her parents when she died on March 22, 1848, at age 28. Her youngest child, Elsifer was only a year old and her oldest daughter was 11 when she died in Mantua Center, Portage County. She is buried at the East Lawn Cemetery in Mantua. ![]() |
