786. Capt. James Allen was born in 1716 in Ireland. He died on May 10 1810.
Most DAR Records list James as having been born in 1716, which would mean that he was born in Ireland before his father immegrated to America.

DAR Record 9434:
" James Allen, who was born in Ireland, fought at Point Pleasant under Gen. Andrew Lewis, where his brother Hugh [p.159] was killed in that bloody battle. He died in Augusta county in 1810, at the age of ninety-four." He was married to Margaret Anderson.

...Capt. James and Margaret (ANDERSON) ALLEN, a dau. of John ANDERSON, a native of Ireland, who at an early date settled in Augusta Co., Va. Capt. James ALLEN was a captain of militia in 1756, participated in the battle of Point Pleasant, where his brother, Lieut. Hugh Allen, was killed, and d. in 1810, at the age of 94. He was the eldest son of William ALLEN, who came from Ireland and settled in Augusta Co., Va., probably as early as 1723, though the exact date is not known.
787. Margaret Anderson was born before 1740. Children were:
